Corporate Social Responsibility is at the core of our values. Standard Chartered Modaraba (SCM) believes in being responsible and transparent. SCM believes that with the appropriate policies and practices in place it can be a legitimate influence for good. Detailed policies and procedures are in place to enable us to meet or exceed the legal, ethical, commercial and public expectations of the communities in which we operate. Our objective is to benefit all of our stakeholders including our certificate-holders, customers, staff and the communities in which we operate. We strongly support the trend towards delivering value to our certificate-holders in a socially, ethically and environmentally responsible manner.

Community:

In line with our aforementioned belief, SCM continues to provide financial assistance to various charitable and non-profit organizations. We support a range of fund raising events and projects, which focus on children, health and education in under privileged members of society. Apart from funding, staff are encouraged to take part in activities to support the community.

Environment:

SCM continues to support environmental projects. To mark our environmental commitment and to raise awareness among staff, customers and the community, we launched a ‘Clean and Green’ campaign in October 2002. Various activities took place during the week, which included conservation of energy, eating healthy food, anti-smoking drive, planting and preserving plants & trees and joining in community projects to protect the environment.

SCM’s commitment to a clean environment is also extended to its customers. All activities of customers must comply with our environmental & social risk policies and guidelines.
